Ultra Violet rays come from the sun and are the rays that damage the skin when it is not completely protected. UVA rays are longer than UVB rays and penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. UVA rays diminish collagen production, causing the skin to age while UVB rays burn the skin and cause pigmentation.

It is important to wear sun protection that defends against both of these types of rays (known as broad spectrum protection) limiting the lasting damage caused by the sun.
