Beeswax is a thick colourless liquid which is secreted by worker bees to build the honeycomb walls inside a beehive. It has become a popular ingredient in skin care thanks to its moisturising properties and the fact that it is a non-irritant, so can be used on all skin types. It locks in moisture and can prevent environmental damage to the skin by enforcing skin’s natural protective barrier.
It is also anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, helping skin cells to regenerate. Skin is kept soft, supple and smooth, and is found in everything from hand creams and lip balms to moisturisers and mascaras.
