What Is The Difference Between UVA and UVB Rays?

The easiest way to remember what each type of UV ray is responsible for is this; UVA = Ageing and UVB = Burning. UVA rays are longwave rays and can penetrate the skin down to the dermis where it destroys collagen and damages the skin.

UVB rays are shorter and only damage the superficial layers of the skin, causing inflammation and a burning sensation that can both look and feel incredibly painful. To keep your skin safe, it is important to use broad spectrum sun protection that defends against both of these types of UV rays.
