What Is The Difference Between Dry and Dehydrated Skin?

The main difference here is that dry skin is a skin type and dehydrated skin is a skin condition. If you have dry skin that means your sebaceous glands don’t produce enough sebum to keep the skin conditioned, so it can quickly dry out and feel tight.

Dehydrated skin is a condition that happens when the skin’s moisture content is too low due to being exposed to harsh environments or skin care that is too drying. Even acne-prone and oily skins can suffer with dehydration, especially when overly astringent products are used over the entire face instead of just on affected areas.
