How To Build a Basic Routine

Whatever your age or lifestyle, it’s never too late to start taking care of your skin and with a new year comes the perfect time to build yourself a basic skincare routine to take on 2020 with a healthy complexion. However, we understand it can be overwhelming trying to pick which products to use and when, which is why we are here with some top tips on how to build the perfect routine for you…

Before beginning your new routine, it’s important to take a look at your skin and establish what your main concerns are. You might suffer from acne, dry skin or just have an uneven complexion, so it’s important to identify what you’d like to improve about your complexion as different products can target different problems. 

Step One: Cleanse

Cleansing is the most basic and essential step of any skincare routine because every day your skin comes into contact with environmental pollutants, dirt and make-up. It’s also important to start with a clean slate both morning and night so that the rest of your products are able to do their job effectively. Choosing a cleanser that suits your skin type can sometimes be tricky when there are so many available, but to simplify it just remember: a cream cleanser, like the Medik8 Cream Cleanse, is great for dry and sensitive skin whereas a gel cleanser or one that contains Salicylic Acid such as the Verso Acne Deep Cleanse, is going to unclog pores and prevent future breakouts.

Step Two: Tone

Step Three: Serum
